Wooooo Hooooo!

Tyson peed in the potty today for the first time. The way I jumped up and down and cheered and woo hoo'd you would think he had just won an olympic gold medal or something. No what do we do? How does this potty training thing work?!

Connor was hard to potty train...I took him shopping, and at the time he was way into superheroes. He picked out a bunch of "guys" (Superman, Batman, Hulk...) After we brought the superheroes we went to "his" bathroom (designated a bathroom just for him to pee in) and placed his Superman on the back of the toilet. Everytime he would poop in the potty he would get his superhero. Everytime he pooped his pants I took it away and put it back on the toilet for him to earn. Then, each time he would pee, we would call his favorite superhero. He could pick who he wanted to call. Chris or Grandpa Collier became great Spidermen! That was finally what worked for us...sorry, that's really long! Potty training is such a time consuming process, and I may have pushed Connor a lot, but I was pregnant with Ethan and I refused to have 2 in diapers. Ethan was a lot easier, probably cause I let him go on his own. But, it sounds like Tyson is ready!

Marci just let him see his daddy do often. He will catch on. Good luck to you, Patti Lee

A big help was getting underwear that they LOVE. Then tell them you don't want to pee on ____ (for us it was Dora). Then it is just a matter of reminding them on a regular basis to go, or just making them try. Once they figure out the sensation it is down hill from there. We also did stickers for pee and then candy (jelly beans) for number 2. You just have to find what is the coolest thing for them. Good luck. It is an adventure. =)

Quentin likes to aim and try to hit a Cheerio... keep some by the toilet, when he has to go, let him try and sink the Cheerio. Worked for us!

Yeah on the potty training. Lil Ed is working daily on it. He goes most days on the potty a few times. Other days he wants nothing to do with it. He is only 2 so I don't really want to push it too much. Good Luck!!

I bought a DVD for my daughter called "Potty Power". She LOVED it and was very interested in going potty. We gave it to my nephew and that also jumpstarted his will to pee. You might want to get that DVD. It rocks :) Good luck! My son is only 16 months. I don't look forward to potty training a boy!

If he wear the "cool cars" underwear, he will never pee in his pants again! Love the cheerio idea.
