Leg Hair

I'm not sure what it is, but looking back on the few post's that I have made, it's obvious that I've got some hang up with hair. That being said I think I have solved the mystery as to why females have leg hair. Now, with the exception of an 8th grade English teacher whose feet were so hairy I can only assume her legs were as well, most females have much less/thinner/lighter leg hair than their male counterparts. The idea that we have it for warmth, doesn't work for me. If so, why don't we have as much as guys do. Here is the answer: (it's not short so prepare yourselves) Have you ever been in the bath tub with your baby and freshly shaved legs? If the answer is yes, you'll understand that the combination is a very slippery and adventurous feat, and you most likely will not get any personal hygiene accomplished, due to the fact that it is virtually impossible to hold your baby with those freshly shaved legs.  (8th grade English teacher not liking my run-on sentence) Back in the day when people had to bathe in streams, rivers and lakes; you can just see a mother trying to keep her baby from floating away as well as wash her hair (on top of her head). The leg hair that she had (although thinner/lighter/less than her husbands) was just what she needed to have an extra "grip" on said baby and keep it from eminent water peril. I realize that the answer is not to stop shaving your legs (although how nice would that be?) the answer is to get a baby bath seat, and while at the pool some floaties or something. The alternative of not shaving may just cause a revolt of the husbands and ensure China's one child per couple rule. Hmmmmm....

There's no place like home...

We missed our church Halloween party a few days before Halloween because EVERY SINGLE ONE of us got really sick. We were looking forward to trick-or-treating with the kids but as you can see, that didn't really go so well. So, after many hours of costume making, we made it to a sum total of 2 houses. On this Halloween night, I closed my eyes, tapped my painstakingly made ruby slippers, and said..."There's no place like home (when you have two babies), there's no place like home (when you have two babies), there's no place like home.

Jim is such a great sport, what a guy to wear the cheesy scarecrow costume I made him. Tyson, not such a good sport. Let's just say he was a cryin' lion most of the night (which didn't last long).
So after an entire evening of hot gluing each individual sequin on to my shoe, Jim had the genius suggestion of putting the glue on the shoe first, and then putting the sequins on. The next night I finished the other shoe in literally half of the time as the night before. (and it looked better) Freak.

Teething sucks!

Our little guys are 13 months, 10 days, 9 hours (no one's counting) apart. Not that I would ever want to sway anyone one way or another in the decision making process of sibling spacing, BUT, let me let you in on a little information that we did not consider. TEETHING. Teething stinks in general, but when you have two babies teething at the same time, well it sucks! This was a rough night when only a little Tylenol, teething tablets and Baby Einstein could keep their minds off of the bone pushing its way through their little gums to the surface. Teething sucks.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!!!

This was Tyson's first time in the snow. He loved it! He seemed very intrigued by the cold white stuff. He then proceeded to kick down the snowman his granddad built for him. What a boy.

Jim and Marci sitting in the trees....

Although we are a bit scruffy in our appearence (that's what happens after a week in the woods), it was nice to find some time (sin ninos) for just a few minutes to enjoy each other and nature. When we left Vegas it was 80 degrees +, when we got to Idaho it actually snowed!!!

You are my sunshine...

You know that cheesy song, you are my sunshine?. Well that was written about my baby Luke. He really is our sunshine, and makes us so happy every time he grins at us.
The boys and I at Red Rock. It's a state park just outside of vegas where we like to hike. Again with the hair, we all have kind of weird hair in this one.

Hair...

So, I'm trying to grow Tyson's hair out, hence the shagginess. I broke down and cut it once since this picture, but am debating cutting it all off in the spring. It get's so bloody hot here in vegas and I think it might be torture for him to have it long (but then again, mine's long and I'm not too tourtured). But, it might be the only time in his life when I have complete control over his hair...what to do, what to do?

Tyson loves to play and run this is a cute shot of his sweaty hair and little split lower lip from a "bonk" on the slide.

Testing 1,2,3...

After much persuasion from friends and family members, I have decided to try blogging. Those who know me, know that this is a great undertaking for me; as I am not the most technologically advanced person out there. I hope that this "blog" will not only keep us connected with our friends and family members, but also serve as an online "scrapbook/journal/history" for our family. Nothing wrong with trying to hit two birds with one stone. (eew, does someone have a different saying for that? I don't want to hit any birds with any stones!)
